There are all kinds of options when you are renting a computer in New York City, but make sure that the company you are renting from can give you all the quality service you expect from a professional computer rental company. QuickAV is now a part of the Smart Source Rentals family, but we are located right in the heart of Manhattan and hope to be your first choice when you need a computer or av rental anywhere in NYC.
Questions to ask before your next computer rental?
- Can your company provide a replacement in case of an emergency?
- Does your company have tech support trained in all aspects of technology?
- Does your company actually own the gear they are renting you?
- Can your company provide you with everything you might need?
QuickAVRentals can provide all this with every single type of rental that we provide. We have rental equipment right here in NYC, trained staff, a huge inventory, and plenty of equipment should your needs all of the sudden grow or change. We are your one stop computer equipment rental shop, and you shouldn’t have to worry about renting from multiple or smaller companies.

I’m still not sure if the actual title of this post works but I was going for the whole ‘do you copy’ radio communications type reference when this post is supposed to be about copy machines. Get it..? Anyway lets move on to the point which is the need to rent a copier or multiple copy machines. Almost every office out there has a copy machine - some love it, some hate it, and the bottom lines is that when it breaks everyone notices because it slows things down. While you wait a week or two for the repair man to come and fix it, why not rent a copier to keep your office moving in the mean time.
We carry low speed, high speed, medium speed, black & white, color etc. copy machines that can handle various workloads depending on your situation. Im sure someone in your office knows about how hard the copier in your office is getting worked so when you need to rent one you can ask them and work with our sales staff to make sure you can get a copier that meets your demands. Here are some of the more common reasons that people rent copy machines from us, and maybe one of them will sound familiar to you:
- Short Term Special Project/Client
- Legal Needs/Audit/Lawsuit
- Tax Season
- Repair Issues
- Temporary Move or Expansion
- Merger/Acquisition

What makes a big screen TV, a big screen TV? Is there a certain threshold a screen crosses when it is no longer just a TV and become a big screen? Is there an official number (my guess is 42). Does time and the development of technology drive the size bigger and bigger kind of like a graduation of sorts or maybe a butterfly coming out of the technology cocoon…

37" Hitachi Plasma
You’re going to have to excuse the extreme randomness of my posts regarding big screen TV’s today as it is later in the day on Friday and all of us here at the office have been working hard all week. Originally I started out wanting to talk about our Hitachi 37″ Plasma Display Monitor and somehow along the way started mentioning stuff like cocoons and graduation? The relation between the two started with the fact that I was wondering to myself whether a 37 inch Plasma TV qualifies as a big screen or not. Is it a medium screen? I would definitely not call it a small screen as pretty much anything over 24 inches can’t be considered a small screen (at least not for another year or two until the never ending growth rate of giant screens continue to grow).
In my semi porffessional opinion I am officially going to declare that our 37 inch Hitachi Plasma is indeed a big screen TV. I am sure there are tons of people out there reading this (or maybe like three?) with bigger screens in the living rooms denouncing this as lunacy, but I think it’s accurate. Just because there are tons of bigger screens out here doesn’t mean that a 37 inch is not officially a “big screen”. (I had to read that last sentence twice just to make sure that it made sense. Close enough for me…)

I was staring at our logo today and thought I would write a post about our logo. For the first minute or two I was staring it I kind of had a confused expression of ‘what the heck’. Then I finally got it - I think. I haven’t actually asked around the office to confirm this yet but I am seeing the power logo in the image. I’m not so sure how else to describe it. It’s kind of like that universal circle symbol with a small slash in it you see on everything from computers, tv’s, appliances etc. It kind of just screams out “This is how you turn me on and off”. I’ll take any input from the readers on if this makes any sense to them visually or not, but since we are in the business of renting computers it does seem to kind of make sense. It would be awesome to put that logo in one of our interacticve kiosks and have the whole thing power up and down when you pressed it. Can you tell I have been working around all this technology too long?

QuickAVRentals main office is in New York City. We hear the sirens going by, feel the heat, and everyday see how much it takes to compete and do business in such a competitive environment. The fact of the matter is that if you can’t do it, somebody else can. There isn’t time for hesitation when it comes to accepting that next big contract, taking on a bigger client than you have ever taken before, building out a new office or trying to recover from a disaster at the old ones.

When you don’t have time to get authorization for purchase or don’t have time to wait, give us a call and rent all the office equipment you need, for as long as you need, right here in NYC (or beyond). We are Pro’s, I repeat, PROS!, at corporate level computer and AV rental. We are the people you call when you need 50 laptops, ten printers, five faxes, 20 monitors, 2 servers, and you need them all to work as one connected to a network and with the right software for your job. That’s not easy, but we can sure make it look easy!

It’s a big country out there. Really big. I am looking at the new map our branch manager put up on the wall with thumbtacks at all of our 22 computer rental locations and besides there being a lot of tacks in the wall, there is a ton of states and open land as well. This gets exponentially bigger if you actually get in a car, train or bike and try just going a little ways across. When I was 18 a friend and I got the wild idea to jump in his VW bug (69 and falling apart) and drive from California over to NYC and back. Take my word for it, it is a loooong way (and for anyone considering this my advice is not to drive a VW and if you do bring a ton of tools).

Before I get too lost in my youthful cross country driving memories, I should probably get to my main point, which is that if you need to rent some computer or AV equipment anywhere in the US you should give us a call. We can deliver it wherever you are, one way or the other, and I promise you our trained delivery staff won’t take any long detours like I did when I was a kid.

Today I decided to feature one of our Plasma Displays as the feature of a blog post. Even though QuickAVRentals only does B2B Rentals, the first thing I think when I see this monitor is how awesome it would look in my living room for a Monday Night Football game. Of course I am sure it is almost as awesome on the trade show floor or in your conference room, but really I am still thinking about watching the game on it. Could have to do with the image I suppose…
For those of you out there who have a need for rental monitors - be it tradeshows, events, the office, promotional campaigns etc - let me go over the advantages of renting a monitor (I do this because I know every one is saying “why rent when I can buy?”).
Picture yourself getting on the plane to fly to your trade show. Now picture yourself with an enormous box housing your 61″ Plasma Monitor. Are you going to enjoy paying the oversize baggage fee on this item and feel safe knowing the baggage handlers aren’t going to slam it around? Didn’t think so. If the Plasma does get there on time, have fun cramming it in the back of a cab or rental car and getting to your show. Are you with me in your mind still? From here enjoy being doubleparked while get a small cart to wheel your monitor through the trade show floor and over to your booth. Now that you are sweaty, tired, and getting teased by the other exhibitors you are ready to get down to preparing for your show. That does not sound pleasant at all, and neither does doing the exact same thing in reverse.
Now picture this: You arrive to your show with a cup of coffee in your hand, worry free, knowing that you can head over to your booth and focus on your job. The plasma monitor you need is already there and being installed by our onsite tech staff who gives you a brief intro on how to use it for your situation before leaving. When you finish, you can head off to the bar (read: reception) for a quick networking session and let the tech staff pick it up and take it away for you. Now it can be your turn to smirk at all those other vendors standing in the taxi line with huge boxes!!
So think QuickAVRentals when you want to rent a plasma monitor, and do it the easy way!

I don’t have the pictures to show you the inner workings but I thought it would be fun to post the google maps street view of our location. If you rent computers and have found yourself on this blog I can almost guarantee that you know about the street view component of google maps. They basically had people drive around everywhere with cameras, uploaded the pictures to computers and servers, waved a magic wand (AKA - did some extreme graphic processing) and just like that you can actually see the streets around a particular address.

Street View
This picture is the street where QuickAVRentals’ offices are, but we do computer rentals all over the place so you don’t just have to be in New York City.

I’ve always been a fan of the summer olympics more than the winter olympics. I’m not one of the types to go out an paint my face red, white, and blue and scream at the top of my lungs however. I’m more the type to lean back in my easy chair and steer the remote control to the olympics instead of some other night time programming and follow the various sports for a few weeks. I realized something about this the other day when I went out to meet a friend at my neighboorhood bar - the olympics look way better in HD on and big screen LCD Monitor! My attention span was held hostage by the quality of the HD picture on a huge LCD monitor when compared to my home TV. When I looked around I realized everyone else was a little awestruck as well.
If your business is thinking about going big for the upcoming NFL season, Baseball Playoffs, or even the next Olympic trials give QuickAV a call about renting a plasma screen!
